The COSMOS trial randomized 21,442 adults to daily cacao flavanols for 3.6 years and reported a 27% reduction in cardiovascular death. The trial dose: 500 mg cacao flavanols with 80 mg standardized (–)-epicatechin, daily. CCV-3® is built at 1,200 mg flavanols with 600 mg epicatechin — 2.4× the trial flavanol dose and 7.5× the epicatechin.
